The Residential Tenancies Act requires tenants to give at least 28 days’ written notice if they intend to vacate the property.

The end date on tenant’s notice cannot be before the end date of the lease. If it is, the tenant is breaking their lease and may be subject to fees associated with breaking the lease.

Vacating tenants need to complete this form.
